Session workspace
One consultation’s working area: the chart the engine produced, the evidence you choose to rest a summary on, and your own private notes.
Before you start
- A client with a submitted intake. A chart is calculated from the intake, so a client without one has nothing to calculate.
- A calculation that has finished. The workspace shows its state — queued, calculating, taking longer than expected, or failed — and never presents one as done before the API reports it.
- A house system recorded for the practice. Without one the engine refuses the chart, and the screen offers the choice that fixes it.
What you provide
- Which of the returned evidence factors to include. Including one changes how prominently it appears and what a summary may cite; it never removes it from this screen.
- Your own notes, which are private to you and are never delivered, previewed or put in a link.
- Optionally, a chart the client brought with them, instead of one calculated here.
What you can do
- Request a calculation, or try a failed one again.
- Include or exclude individual evidence factors.
- Write and save your notes — they autosave as you type.
- Open the summary composer when you are ready to draft, or the review screen when a version exists.
What you get
- A set of included evidence factors that the composer cites.
- A private note stored against the session and against you.
- A session whose state you can read at any time, including from another browser, because it is a record in your practice.
Common problems
- The calculation has said “Queued” for a long time
- After ten minutes the screen says it is taking longer than expected and names the three things worth checking, in order: whether a calculation worker is running, whether this practice has a house system recorded, and whether a worker logged a refusal. A queued run with no worker waiting for it stays queued for ever.
- The run failed
- The reason the API recorded is shown with the run, and “Try again” starts a new attempt rather than reusing the failed one. A failed run produces no evidence, so the evidence list is empty or shows an earlier run.
- A factor cannot be included
- It depends on a house cusp or a chart angle, and the birth time is recorded as not exact. Including it would be a claim the chart cannot support, so the control is disabled. Record an exact birth time and calculate again to use it.
